As a wedding professional – are other vendors/venues like kids? Am I allowed to say I favor one over the other even if I really like them all? I don’t know if I’m actually “supposed to” have a true favorite, however, if I could, Lake View Pavilion (Foxboro, MA) would be it. This place has everything you could want in a beautiful outdoor or indoor wedding location.
The Lake View Pavilion provides a quaint and beautiful outdoor setting for a ceremony with the lakeside backdrop and cobblestone gazebo that combine for a fairytale-like setting. The outdoor ceremony location is especially beautiful during a fall wedding, due to the heavy lakeside foliage and outdoor wraparound porch that allows a bride and groom a nice temporary escape into the soft fall night.
The key to Lake View, however, is the hall itself which is amazingly adaptable to any brides wishes. One of my favorite aspects of the Lake View ballroom is the draped ceiling. The thousands of tiny lights woven through the sheer fabric give an air of twinkling stars in an otherwise dimly lit ballroom. Add that to the cleverly-placed spotlights and you have a photographer’s dream for romantic lighting. One of the weddings I worked there also had a customized spotlight to include the couple’s name in light on the floor. Lake View offers that on their own – no outside company is needed.

The layout of the ballroom is also sublime for adding external uplighting. The dance floor is surrounded by lofty columns that, on their own, add an air of sophistication. When you add a set of uplights to those columns, it transforms the atmosphere of your reception into an ever-changing mood of fun! It never ceases to amaze me how much alternating lighting can really impact the feel of the party in the room. It’s here that I’d like to give HUGE props to Boston Uplights. If you have EVER considered taking your wedding lighting to the next level – call them. If I have time, I’ll do a whole post on them later. That good. REALLY!
I could go on and on about how much I truly like Lake View Pavilion for weddings. But for me, the photographer (after all, that is the main reason I’m writing these reviews), the number one most important thing that makes Lake View stand out from other venues I’ve worked at is their staff. I have never – and I mean EVER! – been treated so well by the staff of a venue as I have there. The entire team works as a team with all of the vendors to ensure we ALL can provide you (the bride and groom) and all your guests the most amazing wedding day celebration ever. The communication between me and the coordinator was second to none. We each knew what the other had planned and we both worked to ensure that if something took long or got off schedule even a little, we would get it back on track ASAP. Add that to the amazing full meal they served us at our own table, and that puts them WAY ahead of any other place I’ve ever worked. If they treat their coworkers (vendors) that way, they must work 100 times harder to ensure you and your guests are treated well.
So, yup,I’ve moved passed wondering if I should have a favorite or not. The Lake View Pavilion is by far my favorite. Period. You should definitely check it out.
Here are a couple more images from the weddings I’ve been fortunate enough to work there. Please, enjoy:
